Female here:

Bench: 95
Squat: 105
Deadlift: 105

Damn. I think my bench maxed at 95, but in a couple of months I was up 180 squat and a 220 deadlift 1RM.

I'm 4'11" and have some naturally "built" legs, which is nice at the gym.. fashion-wise is a PITA. 😡

So everyone who participated in this thread is considering ortho, right? :meanie:

Since no one else has posted it...

300 lbs squat for a high school girl? holy ****.

IKR? Geez.

There was a time I could pick up my husband. You've met him. I have no idea if I could still do it, but I'm in no position to attempt it right now. I lost 15 pounds right before I got pregnant. I am trying to be really good about my weight gain with this baby and get right back into it once I'm fetus-free. I wanna be hot again. 🙁

I'm sure you're gorgeous with the pregnancy glow thing going on. 🙂

Aww, shucks. Thanks. I totally glowed with Chicklet. I don't know if I'm quite there with this baby yet, but my skin IS better (just like last time). I have no complaints about myself from the neck up, though. 🙂

College football days (6'4 282)
Bench-360 (1 rep max)
Bench 225 for reps- 29
Squat- 405
DL-Didnt DL in college Power Cleaned

Now (6'4 202)
Bench- 315 (1 rep max)
Bench 225 Reps- 24
Squat- 335

Haven't been lifting a lot mainly been running and biking.

5'10'' 184lbs (kinda high bf% right now)

1RM:
Bench - 250
Squat - 305 ATG a few months ago, have been neglecting due to right knee
Deadlift - 425

My overall chest strength has always been behind the rest of my body.
Not sure on the maxes, I tend not to max often.

However a typical set of 3 reps would be around.
Bench 235
Squat 375
deadlift 405

How many of you feel like you would actually chose a different specialty if it meant you could workout more regularly?

That is actually a driver of my specialty choice, "can I workout regularly in this specialty?"

lol dude, i don't want to admit it, but this has been a factor in the back of my mind. i mean, can you really blame us though, lifting/fitness/aesthetics/strength/etc are something that we've all invested some serious long-term work and energy into.

but just to add to this... i would really like to know what the minimum of lifting/exercise is that i need to maintain what i currently have.

exercising while pregnant is encouraged for mama and baby's health, alike.

picking up your hubby would be a feat to see! haha.

bench 205 x 6
squat 385 x 3
deadlift 405 x 3

I am a Division I long jumper so as you can see, i spend 90% of the time doing lifts that will actually make you a better athlete rather than just look bigger.

i am 5 ft 10 175lbs

weak premed ftw

5'9" 150lbs

Bench: ~120 max
Squat/Deadlift: Don't want to know

At least someone here's willing to post who's weak+doesn't work out. I'll guess I'm about the same (not height/weight though)

what he's trying to say is he's got mad bunnies yo.

Just curious what the MD applicant pool looks like compared to the crowd I see at the gym. Obviously not a scientific poll or anything, just share...either your one rep max or your 6-8 rep weight for everyday lifting.

Cheers!

what is the best kind of protein/creatine/pre-workout/supp?

Cyclone, you should check out Consumer Reports about your protein drink first. If you consumed 3 protein shakes per day (as advertised), they found that the heavy metal exposures were far above the daily recommended limit. Not saying you would drink 3 protein shakes a day, but they found some protein shakes in their study that probably shouldn't even be on the market. I think it was published late last year.

I can bench press 80. I'm a guy. I can run 10+ miles, and swam from the Island of alacatraz to san fran several times....but I utterly fail at muscles.

I'd post a picture of my guns, but I don't want to embarrass anyone...

I love the gym.

Not sure about the bench but I've got a wicked arm from lifting about twelve ounces at a time mostly on the weekends.

You people make me feel like a baby. Do a light (comparatively) fb workout twice a week to supplement sport.

Anyway, don't max out as I generally go without a spot, but if I had to guess

Reps (can't guess 1rm accurately, always repping)

Bench: 155x5
Squat: 195x5
DL: hurt lower back, fml

Somewhere between 5'11 and 6, 139 lbs

Amateur lifter here. I've been at it for about 1.5 months.

I'm doing the Stronglifts 5 sets of 5 reps routine 3 days a week, and plan to switch to a 4 day split once I have some decent muscle mass. Anyone else on here tried SL?

6'0'' / 175 lbs

Bench: 165 5x5
Squat: 175 5x5
Deadlift: 220 x5

I'm not sure what my 1RM would be. I'm hesitant to even try for squat and deadlift.

I definitely plan to keep lifting through med school if at all possible.

College days while working at a gym and prepping for the Marines:
Bench -- 365
Squat -- 405
DL (sumo style) -- 420

Now, with a newborn and working 13 hour days:
Bench -- 275
Squat -- 315
DL -- 350ish

I'm over the "GOTTA GET JACKED!!!!1" look. When I find the time to hit the gym (3-4x a week), I pick a CrossFit workout that smokes my whole body in ~30 mins. Much happier, and the lean look impresses the wife moreso than the Hulk look. I typically follow what my good buddies do at their CrossFit gym: http://www.crossfitragnarok.com/

As for supplements -- I've tried it all, and I feel so much more healthy taking NOTHING. A good diet is all you need. All that pre-workout s--t makes me feel nauseous and like my heart is about to burst.

this man speaks truth.

Best Lifts:

390 Deadlift
310 Squat
265 Bench

Now:
380 Deadlift (although my form has improved substantially)
Don't know for squat, although front squat is 215
255 bench

6"3, 195 lbs.

Oh and 5'8.5" and 171lbs

Bench: Max was 305lbs (two years ago) but I don't bench now. I prefer to chest flys & weighted dips.

Squat: 4x5 @ 250lbs Never maxed out but I got low, I'm talking butt on my heals low.
Anyways, I'm got big on lunges over the past two years. I do 3x8 @ 200lbs twice a week now.

Deadlift: Not interested in this particular exercise. I do cleans and back extensions.

Supplements: I have a protein shake everday but only to make up for what my diet lacks.

Dang, SDN is always overrepresented.

Of all my pre-med friends, only a couple work out, and an even smaller amount have stats like the ones you've all listed...

Bench press max = 255
Squat max = 300
Deadlift max = 315

I have the most unbelievable chicken legs you guys would ever see. My legs aren't that weak but they refuse to gain size.

I am naturally very athletic but I'm a built runner. Not really a heavy lifting type, but I hate being skinny (a lil over 6 ft and 180 lbs)

My upper body gains size but my legs just stay thin (well, mostly my calves). Very self conscious about my legs too 🙁

Damn, is everyone here super-buff or what? Newbie here.

Bench: 40kg x 10.

seriously guys. This isn't high school. No one cares how much you bench(unless, as stated, you go into ortho), and this is not the appropriate venue to brag about it.

It's just for fun. I thought it was interesting to see how many novice/intermediate level lifters are on here.

Please go.

It appears to me that you are the one who is insecure here. Nobody cares that you take such offense to people sharing stats and discussing weightlifting.

C’mon.. Seriously?

I find people who enjoy health & fitness while maintaining an intellectual side to be the most secure individuals. Evolutionary speaking, Intelligence + Athleticism = Bi-Winning!! It’s a rare trait and I think it should be greatly appreciated.

Just a reminder, you CHOSE to read this thread. Perhaps, re-evaluate why you decided to peer into this thread and make 3 offensive/useless comments. Who's the insecure one here?
