Well most hotels require you to check out at 11am.. so Id have to check out before I left for the interview.. meaning Id have to take my bags with me.. where do I keep them?? Or, do I leave them at the hotel and go back later to get them??

What did you do??

eta. this is assuming I am flying and taking a cab from place to place.

Every school will let you leave your stuff in the admissions office while you interview/tour the school. It's pretty common . . .

Good Luck :luck:

You can call ahead and let them know that you're bringing your luggage, but from what I've experienced schools usually have a big closet where you can store your stuff. 🙂

Well, i drove to all of my interviews, but I believe a lot of hotels have a service where they will hold your luggage for a short period of time. Call ahead and find out whether they offer this service and if it's free. It may not even cost you more for the taxi if the hotel has a free shuttle to the airport once you've returned (again, ask ahead). Another option is to call the school and explain the situation and see if they have somewhere you could put it. I'm sure many others have had the same dilemma.

Just bring them to the school. Its no big deal.

At one school I toured "haven't interviewed yet" the students left all their bags just laying in the hall during lecture. Seemed pretty trusting, and I commented on it to the person giving me a lecture. He said it wasn't a big deal so I assume that it isn't a big deal for you to bring your bags and leave them in the admissions office while you visit. Of course it could be different at different schools, I would use it as a chance to contact the admissions office and talk to them.

When I went to KCOM I just brought it with me in the morning, and the admissions staff stored it until I left for the day. Didn't seem to be a problem.

This is only a problem if you using a cab to get around...not if you have a retnal

well, the Do schools that I applied to where pretty much rural and the hotel knew about the school. They also understood that i was there for an interview. I just asked the hotel staff if i can keep the luggage in the back office or something till the evening and it was never a problem.

I always hand mine to my interviewer and tell them to "take care of it for me". Then I tip $5.
