What do you expect as a pharmacist?

Dear pharmacy students,
Have you ever thought of your choice of being pharmacists? What's the career all about? I am going to apply for a Pharmacy school, but I cannot figure out whether that job is suitable for me. In other words, I am always trying to work in a field that truely interests me. Could you tell me what is expected being a Pharmacist--what are you actually doing in your job?

There are a lot of things you can research to find the answer to your question. Read through the FAQs, read the Pfizer Guide to Careers in Pharmacy http://hsc.unm.edu/pharmacy/docs/Pfizerpharmacyguide.pdf

There are MANY specialties in pharmacy. If you read the Pfizer guide you can learn about them all and even read about a day in the life of a pharmacist in that field.

Use the search function to browse through specific questions you have. This board has so much information on it that can help you to answer that question for yourself. Everyone on here has different reasons for wanting to do pharmacy. Learn as much about the profession as you can and you should definitely be able to tell if it is right for you. If not, then maybe you could shadow a pharmacist at a private pharmacy or a hospital and see what you think about their job. Good luck!
