Next semester I am signed up for the following courses;
Gen Chem II with Qualitative Analysis with lab-4 credits
U.S History to 1865 -------------------------3 credits
General Psychology--------------------------3 credits
General Biology II with lab--------------------4 credits
U.S History 1865 to present------------------3 credits
Religions of the World------------------------3 credits
Statistical methods I-------------------------3 credits

I would like to add Medical terminology, a 3 credit class to this list.

This is a class I am interested in taking, and if I do take it this semester, it allows for me to potentially increase my GPA by .0228 points, as opposed to .018 points without this additional class. I would like to increase my GPA as much as possible, as I am planning on transferring from a community college to university after this semester, where I will complete my remaining pre-reqs.

My last two semesters I have taken 23 and 21 credits, each with a 4.0 for the semester. Any input of advice is appreciated. My main question is a potential .0048 difference in GPA significant enough to justify another class?

Thank you,
Immutef

nah i dont like the idea.

Dude, are you serious? What is the point in taking that many classes?

You have 4.0s and you want to increase your GPA?

My cumulative GPA is not a 4.0.

I have been taking large course loads because I am going to school on a bright futures scholarship which is only good for 4 years. I spent my first 3 semesters out of high school in paramedic school, in which i realized i wanted to pursue medicine. I feel 3 semesters "behind" and want to graduate with my bachelors degree while I am still under the bright futures scholarship. My goal is to graduate by spring of 2013, fall 2010 being my first "real" semester in college.

Paramedic school counted for college credit, and 2 math courses and 2 English courses are required to transfer to my local university, so I had to take classes at a community college. I also hope that a large course load while at at community college will help to offset that certain stigma surrounding community college.

You're better off taking a course load of 18 credits (tops) with more ec's.

Do it, if you think you can handle it.
I have been taking almost 20 credits each semester and maintain a 4.0
I'm sure one class will get me sooner or later ;p
But, yea anyways I'm taking 23 credits this spring with 2 science courses, and the rest should be chill.

If your up for it and have the dedication and want to put forth the effort, go for it. It feels so good when you can pull it off.

Make sure to leave some room for EC's tho, for me i will only have Tuesdays and Thursdays available for me to continue my volunteer work at 2 different places. This semester is going to be tough, but just gotta suck it up, ya know?

If you do it, I wouldn't do it just for the GPA boost... I mean, you stand to gain just about 5 thousandths of a point from an A, which is pretty insignificant. If you take another class I would do it to lighten up your load in future semesters or finish sooner, not to raise your GPA.

You need to remember that you aren't just trying to get things done quickly. You are building a foundation for when you are applying to medical schools. Instead of spending all of your time in school, cut 6 of those credit and spend the equivalent time enjoying life, volunteering and stuff. Not many will care that you took 19 credit hours at once.
