I guess this means we should 'pre-suck' pacifiers before offering them. Lol.
 
I also cringe at the thought of sticking something in my mouth after it's been on the floor. What about a compromise? Rinsing it in the sink with water then sticking it in your mouth before offering it to the baby.

I also would not be surprised if further studies supported these findings.
 
Fortunately my kids were never big on pacifiers, so personally it hasn't been an issue, but I've never been a believer in the "all you need is a rinse of water to clean a pacifier that was on the floor" train of thought.

I'll put a spit shine in the same category. 😀
 
I'm not sure I'd be thrilled to put a dirty pacifier in my mouth, but the spit-shine is probably the cheapest probiotic treatment on the market.
