I am finishing up my first semester of junior year and everything that I list is based on the completion of this current semester.

cGPA=3.62
sGPA=3.71
(Both are upward trending)

I have been a volunteer EMT/Firefighter for the last 3 years and plan to continue refreshing those cert's and actively participating for the foreseeable future.
I have been a Medical Scribe (part time due to full time student) since September and will remain with that until after graduation.
I am a member of the Pre-Health Society Executive Board and will be President of the organization during my senior year.
I showed anesthesiologists in and out of surgery for two weeks out of one of my summers.
One summer as a Research Assistant at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories
Was a peer and student athlete tutor for two semesters, although stopped once I got a more serious job as a scribe. Tutored in Orgo I&II, Intro Bio courses, Biostatistics, Research Methods I&II, etc.

Relevant Courses: Intro to Cell and Molec Bio, Organismal Bio, Ecology & Evolution, Gen Chem I & II, Orgo I & II, Physics I & II, Biostatistics, Research Methods, Biochemistry, Biopsychology

Registered for next semester: Endocrinology, Biochemistry II, Genetics, Tests and Measures (Psych Class), and one core.

I have not taken the MCAT yet. I plan to take a prep course this summer and take the test in August/September. I also plan on taking one year off after graduation to continue scribing.

Really thinking MD, open to DO. Would love to get some feedback for both.

Thank you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post on this! I know there are a lot of other more interesting and complicated threads but I do really appreciate your opinion! Any suggestions to improve anywhere?

However I am curious, is it hard juggling school with your scribe job?

It is definitely not easy. I have had many sleepless nights as I usually have to take the night or weekend (or worse night AND weekend) and therefore cannot go out with my friends as much as I was used to. But with that being said the job is amazing and in my opinion incredibly worth it. I am learning more in the past two months than I have in any class or lecture or anything I can think of. Balancing is tough, yet absolutely do-able, and oddly enough it has made me more aware of how I spend my very little free time and I think as a result my grades are improving. I am having my best semester yet by far.

Your ECs actually make me feel like a pansy honestly! Thanks I need the push anyways. How many hours do you work?

That was not my intent! I was just looking for the opinions of my peers! I'm sure you are well on your way as well!

As far as how many hours, I am "part time" so I am supposed to work 20/week. However we are very short staffed so it has been more like 27-30/week.

As far as shadowing goes, I did do a two week program that was 5 days a week from 7-3. I got to see some cool things shadowing but the reason I haven't don't any more was because I felt it was more of a one time thing to make sure I like it. From there I thought it would be better to get more involved if possible
