I took the DAT for the first time last month and received the following scores:
BI: 20
GC: 16
OC: 18
PAT: 21
RC: 21
QR: 16
TS: 18
AA: 18

I'm a white female who comes from a somewhat disadvantaged background. I excelled in track-and-field in college (2nd in the nation) and have worked as a full-time dental assistant for the past year. I majored in biology at a prestigious small college with a 3.40 oGPA and a 3.33 sGPA. I heard dental schools sometimes look more at grades during your last 2 years more heavily; if so they are: oGPA 3.68, sGPA 3.42, non-scienceGPA 3.94 (I struggled a bit my first 2 years). I've wanted to be a dentist since I was 4 so I'm really hoping my stats are acceptable. What do you think are the chances I will be accepted or at least get an interview? Do you think I need to retake the DAT? I want to submit my application soon but I have to report if I'm going to retake the DAT before I submit it. All thoughtful, honest responses are greatly appreciated!

I wouldn't retake if I were you.. apply broadly esp to lecom, and I'm pretty sure you'll land interviews with everything else you have

Thanks for the input! I used the Kaplan Review Notes book and DAT Bootcamp for bio and just Bootcamp for reading (S&D method).

I'd vote for you if I were on the board! Keeping that good of a GPA whilst achieving 2nd in the nation must take a person with impressive drive. Dental assistant is a good plus. The grade improvement towards the end is nice as well. You have a chance at some schools.

However you would be a much stronger applicant and have a lot more choices if you get a better DAT score. It's going to be a risk either way, but if I were in your place, I would rather retake the DAT and apply later in the cycle rather than apply early with a low DAT score.

Good luck!

It's in Bradenton, FL. The main campus in in PA, but there is a dental and med school in Bradenton
