Its really tough taking the DAT using a marker board for notes and doing math, thats mainly the reason. I am really upset with the way that worked out, but I feel other than that my scores are good. What do you guys think?

even with a high GPA, retake

I don't think its necessary. I am confident in my LOR and GPA and personal statement. Sure I can't do math as well as some, and I cant read but who is to say I won't make a great dentist. My PAT was 90th percentile, my eyes are good and my hands are golden. See you in dental school. 😉

Nice way to keep up the confidence! However, if for some reason you don't get in this year, you might want to consider re-taking the exam. You're AA is actually a 16.67 and your sciences are a 17.67. I know that I'm being picky, however the schools dissect your scores too. The RC section measures your ability to read and understand material on your own, something you'll have to do as a practicing dentist.

I wish you luck and it's not the end of the world if you have to take the exam over. Atleast your hands are golden!

P.S. I had to use the marker board and markers as well. I wrote a complaint letter to the ADEA and to the testing facility because it bothered me using markers that were dryed out and wrote in huge blocky letters. I was denied normal scratch paper.

Ya know I had the same problem! One of the big reasons that my math was so low was this ridiculous dry erase laminated piece o' cr*p they gave me. As I was doing math, I realized I couldn't even read my own numbers sometimes because the markers were so fat. It was awful. And my markers were dried out too... How do they expect people to do long calculations under pressure in that situation?

Yea, my comment section after the DAT wasn't pretty. I couldn't really write anything too powerful because my brain was fried, but I let it be know. I took notes on the RC section and when I looked back, nothing was legible, NOTHING. Sam I am and Pissed I was. Oh well, **** happens and you roll with it. ITS OVER 😀

I hope you mistyped. The ADA are the ones who write the DAT.

U should retake for sure, I had AA:20 PAT:20 TS:20 last year with 3.5 GPA and plenty of extra credit and research and shadowing hours and didn't get in. I retook, thank god I did better.

You were not granted any interviews? I hope to receive an interview atleast, and from there, I feel I can overcome the rest.
