hawaii is one of the more expensive places i've travelled to. nearly everything there is pricey. wanna bet for the same money you could do something more exotic? 🙂

lol, i guess i did not word it quite the way i wanted to. see i learned greek first and english second, so im actually better at Greek than in English, heck i think in Greek than english, soooooooo sometimes i write stuff that sounds off, so dont mind me... im just Greek.

You know if it was just my husband and me we might consider something more exotic. Having two toddlers though, exotic just sounds like another word for nightmare. :meanie:😱 Oh and yes they are going with us on our trip. 😀

See now you have to end up at AZCOM so you can teach me some Greek. I know some French, slightly less than some Spanish and a lot less than some Chinese. 😉
 
Holy crap texas tri 6% body fat! Best I ever got down to was 8% in my track days in high school. 🙁 At least I have the satisfaction of knowing what the first two years will do to that %.:laugh: I've let myself go these past 3 years, I've got to kick it in gear so that if we ever happen meet during clinicals or residency I'll have bragging rights.

it cost me around 1500 for a month in thailand, including the plane ticket and a scuba diving certification (logging 10 dives). if you go to the third world it is ridiculously cheap.. if you go without air conditioning and eating local food... and i think half the fun is about immersing yourself in the local culture. not having kids helps with this one 😛 why would you go someplace like thailand and spend time in an americanized all inclusive resort that's just like florida

ellinopedo, those pictures of santorini rock. remind me of pictures of cinque terra. were you renting that house overlooking the water?

theserbatron.. did you backpack across europe and then into asia all in the same trip? i really want to do a long trip like that before med school

Chicago gets complicated with that anyway. I dated a bosnian/german girl that did an au pair in Chicago. Whenever I visited she'd be extra paranoid about parking her car in certain areas because of the bosnian flag in her window. Sure enough, she forgot to take it down when she parked one time and someone keyed the hell out of her car.

I guess I should have explained the picture...we are DEFINITELY UT fans! My whole family has gone to UT and I've been going to the games since I was 4. This was the UT game last year at Georgia. (the one we beat them 51-33) My brother was in grad school at UGA, because he got a full ride + some to go there. So, we were there tail-gating with his friends, which would explain all the red chairs. Notice he's still wearing the right color though. 😀

As for looking familiar...it's possible. He lived in Knoxville for about 6 years. But never worked in Green Hills when at home. Now he lives in DC!

That is something that was already assumed. Now that I said that, I will probably get accepted and go with the ugly kids in allopathic, but I just assume that I'll end up DO for now.

:laugh: For some reason "moments of rage" cracks me up. My worst day was in the fall when I thought I would never get a DO LOR. There were some serious tears that day. I actually posted a lot about it for anyone who remembers. 👎

Oh man, I remember when I was doing my LORs and my one prof knew I needed it and she told me she was leaving for a trip. I don't know if there were tears or rage at that moment. Hybrid.

But I totally know what you mean about being sensitive. During the app process you just looked at me the wrong way and I thought the world was falling apart. And I was constantly grumpy and angry about something....but I have to admit a good cry is all I need sometimes - there's something very cleansing and therapeutic at least to me...my boyfriend usually rolls his eyes and asks me if I want some ice cream since that's my solution to everything....ok now I'm being a total girl :laugh:
 
Ok, seriously..it just took me ALL morning to get through this thread! 😱

Anyway...here's a pic of me from last summer on top of one of those 14000 foot peaks I climbed...I think Torreys...

I was doing pretty good at keeping in shape. I've pretty much been either climbing or backcountry skiing every weekend since the beginning of the year!

And then I started playing rugby last week...and then I pulled my achilles tendon Tuesday at rugby practice... 🙁
Hopefully its not bad and I can just RICE it for a week or so and slowly get back into things...otherwise...I'm probably NOT going to be climbing Baker and Rainier in May...that would suck!
