In terms of colon and rectal disease, what does IBD stand for?

Irritable bowel disease, I believe.

IBD can either be
1. UC for ulcerative colitis
2. Crohn's disease.

It's INFLAMMATORY bowel disease. Sometimes in definition it can be confused with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), but the two are definately distinct clinically and in pathology.
