In this passage, the green highlight, states that when lowering temp from 80C, (the temp at which the salts are dissolved), the temp at which crystal formation was first noted was recorded. So does this mean that, for instance 74C is the dissociation point for CaCl2?

Again referring to an explanation from TBR, look at the pink 15324089696313612626854290454168.jpg highlight jn the second pic. It is talking about SrCl2 dissociation point being 36C. 15324090215083357212321347669124.jpg

I interpreted it to mean that they raised the solutions to 80C so that all of them dissolved completely, and then they let each slowly cool down. They recorded when precipitate first appeared. The lower the temperature goes before precipitating, the more soluble that salt is.
