What does it mean to be paid on a "sliding scale of production"?

The dental associateship that I am applying to stated this on their ad. Is this a good thing or bad thing? Would you work at a place that offers this type of compensation? Thank you

best gig is a % of collections with a daily guarantee.
are you general or specialist?
to be honest, not sure what that sliding scale is about. your employment agreement/contract needs to clearly state what the heck that means.

If you are talking about PDS its basically the higher production you make the higher % you get.
For example: if you produce 3000 then you get 25%. if you go 5000 a day you get 27%. (dont quote me on the numbers just examples)
