So I have and am going to be taking some 100 level courses, however all of them outside of pre med reqs/major+minor reqs have been for liberal arts credit. That doesn't fall under GPA padding does it? I've taken 2-3 science courses (3-4 including research for credit) every semester

If it's an easy class it'll cushion you for possible bad grades in harder classes

If you have to ask....

The distinction is I'm taking those classes because I have to so I can graduate, not to pad my GPA. Am I really expected to take upper level classes in subject areas I'm not interested in?

Also my sGPA is ~3.9 at a t20 and my cGPA is actually slightly lower. I'd say I'm fine but I'm very cynical about adcoms so I'd like to find out where I actually stand

It is impossible for every adcom to know the courses that are easy your school. There are always classes that meet core requirements that allow you to coast whole you focus on Ochem or Physics.

If you have a 3.9 from a t20 and an MCAT to match, nobody is going to question your late gen eds, don't sweat it.

It means you sign up for African Drumming, show up (sober or not) and get an A.
