I could imagine it being difficult to get a celebrity sample, but a suggestion that if you want to be a celebrity psychologist, start researching comorbidities that occur with celebrity status, and do your dissertation on those constructs. You'd have to sell your expertise pretty quickly in your career. I've noticed that folks who are focused in their postdocs have usually also done their dissertations on the same topic (like before I began my fellowship, I was interested in geripsych fellowships for a while, but everyone filling the geripsych postdocs had done dissertations on aging, etc.; mine was lifespan trauma but was not specific enough - no worries b/c I landed the postdoc of my dreams ). This may be quite obvious to most of us, but maybe not to someone starting off.
