What does M.D. P.A. mean?

I know what M.D. means but what does P.A. mean when it's after M.D.? At first I assumed it meant Physician Assistant, but then I notice a lot of M.D.'s have it after their name.... and I don't think it's that common for people to be a PA and a MD.

Anyone know?
