What does shadowing an OT at an OSD office count as?

I started shadowing an OT in my University and she helps the students in the Office of Students with Disabilities. Does that count as pediatrics? Just OSD?

Thanks 🙂

Depends on if the people are under 18! If so then I would say yes but MAKE SURE make sure that you're not just doing cushy outpatient stuff, schools want to see that you've spent time in the harder parts of the job like SNF's and Acute care centers where theres dressing and bathing and things.

This is where a lot of the job openings will be when we all come out of school. Not saying you have to do this when you're done but schools want to see that you have done it.

I go to college in a SMAAAAAAAALLLLLL town. This woman is the only OT in the town haha. So I really don't have that many options.

But I did 33 hours of hand therapy, I started OSD last friday...
My mom said she can help me get some shadowing hours in the nursing home she works at... and I have a shadowing gig over at a ped place too. Do you think this is well-rounded enough?
