So SUNY Downstate sent me a snail mail saying that I'm currently on hold, and that they need to see my fall grades before they can continue processing my application??

Does anyone know if this happens to a lot of people? Is this basically over... because if they're processing after December, I'm basically being processed for a waitlist right?

I'm not sure if this is an actual waitlist or not...I am in a similar situation at another school. I was in the first week of interviews and I got a letter back that said they could not make a decision until my fall grades were released.

prob. means waitlist. Chances are if they specifically asked for your grades they have an interest and will at least take the time to review it again after you send them in. It's not the best situation to be in, but it clearly could be worse. Don't count yourslef out on this one yet.
