What email client do you guys use, just curious? And on what platform?

I've used Outlook 2007 (which is ok but I feel it's overkill, I like its calendar, though), Windows Live Mail (not fond of it, specially with gmail), Thunderbird (kind of weird, need to experiment more), and Postbox (simple, but gonna experiment with it more too).
All on windows.

Outlook 2007.

I've gotten used to using it to to manage my ~4 e-mail accounts. In addition, I really like creating rules to have mail sort into certain folders. I.e. all my school mail or med school mail in one place, while personal stuff in another.

I use the calendar to set-up an initial schedule of classes. But I can't say that I actively use it throughout the year.

I don't really use anything else that Outlook offers.

I also use iPhone mail a lot. Though, it doesn't carry over my rules from outlook, unless I've missed something.

Gmail for everything. I don't use any dedicated mail apps on my computers. The web interface is just too clean and too quick.

On my ipod touch I use the native mail app sycned to gmail via their exchange servers. This also keeps my contacts and email in sync.

Then i also have an older Windows Mobile phone that syncs to google via exchange also. So that my contacts/mail/calender are in sync among all devices.

I use Windows and I have used hotmail, yahoo, and gmail. They are free. All of them are pretty good. I think I prefer yahoo and gmail though, but I've been getting a lot of spam lately on my yahoo email, so I'm thinking about just switching to gmail completely.

I use gmail. It is the best IMO. I love its compatibility with my iPhone and how contacts seamlessly link.

Anybody else use mailplane? I'm a gmail user and sync that up with my ipod touch but instead of using mail.app on my imac I've been using mailplane. It's like having a gmail open in your browser...but not. It has all the functionality (chat, labels, themes, etc) but has a window of its own with badges that let me know and make noise that a new message has arrived (just like mail.app...)

Am I missing out on anything big by NOT using mail.app? I figure you are missing out on a lot of gmail functionality by NOT using mailplane.

Looks cool! I've never heard of Mailplane before.

I doubt you're missing out not using Mail.app, but I don't really use LABELS or anything else that I can't do in Mail. But I'll d/l it and see if I don't like it better. 🙂

Gmail seems to work the best for me. A word of warning, though, if you accidentally discard a draft, it's gone. It doesn't go to trash. It just disappears. Forever.

Luckily there's an UNDO feature, but if you miss that...yeah...you're screwed.
