What goes into a dean's letter? Do they include accomplishments prior to med school, ie a masters degree? Do you submit a CV to the dean?

Thanks.

Also, do they have your initial application to med school in their files?

What they may or may not tell you is that many schools use a code in there dean's letters. These codes indicate your relative class rank (usually quartiles or quintiles). Words like "outstanding" "excellent" and "good" all have specific meaning.

This document essentially compares you to the rest of your class. Your Dean may ask for your CV but may have other criteria that they use for generation of this. It's now called the MSPE or Medical Student Performance Evaluation. They can use any and all information about you performace in all aspects of medical school to generate this document.

All the examples were for Honors/High Pass students. I wish they showed an example of a more mediocre students...although, I guess they don't really have those at WUSM.😎

Yeah, they all sounded like studs to me and then they got varying recommendations.
