What grades did you get in your science classes?

Hey Guys,

I wanted to know what science classes you received a B or lower in and what grade you got in the class? I am coming up on my first semester of three upper division science classes and I am kinda nervous I have taken:

Biology: B
Gen Chem I:A
Gen Chem II:A
Physics I:A
Physics II:A
Organic Chem I:A

and will be taking microbiology, cell biology, organic chem II in the fall!

Looks like you're on a great track so far. I slacked a bit during my chemistry classes, but rocked the biology classes (my major). I remember micro being tough, but interesting, and the lab was probably one of my favorite labs I had ever taken. There's a lot to know in cell...structure, function, etc. I just retook organic II and got an A, but I hadn't had a chemistry class in the past 5 years, so I really buckled down and studied. Good luck! Seems you're doing fine.

All I did was party every night soo I got B's my freshman year...

A's since then minus that physiology course but our teacher was extremely difficult.

Hmm... There was a very similar post to this ~ 3-4 months ago. I think it was all undergraduate grades though.

Retook Physics I, got 110% overall, never scored under 100% on quizes and tests (too bad they don't give A++ XD)

Intro Bio- i hope i don't have to take it again since I have 4.0 over 18 credits of grad.

Mostly A's and B's - there's nothing wrong with a B in a hard class. Actually got a D in Ochem II the first time around and retook it. Also got a C in Biochem and Molecular Bio, ugh, I hated that class.

Took it over the summer so bad studying technique, compounded by a 'less than excellent' teacher 😛

The second summer semester went by much easier... had a great teacher 🙂

Physics 1: A- (took over summer...isn't going into my GPA)
Astronomy: A 😛

Got a lot of science classes left to take but I'm pretty consistent with my grades ha. Good luck to you!

^ why wouldn't physics be going into your gpa? just because your school doesn't count it in your gpa doesn't mean it doesn't for d school

I don't think it goes in cause when they put it on your transcript it just says pass/fail when it's at a diff school. they see the grade when you send transcripts from other schools. but I don't think it goes into your GPA. that's what I always heard...or else I would've actually cared about the class and gotten an A lol.

Physics goes into the bcp, science and overall gpa for dental school apps. unless you took it pass/fail but you should take all the courses you can for grades unless you have no choice.

I'm no expert but this is what i've been reading.

It might not count for the school you are currently in right now because the grade is from another institution, but it will count for the GPA that AADSAS calculates. That is why they ask you to send transcripts in from every institution you have attended. It only makes sense right.

yea that makes sense but do you put + and - with the grades on those apps. I heard that they don't include them.

yeah you put the + and - grades. AADSAS wants you to put everything as it appears on the transcripst so when it comes time to verify the gpa it's easy.

Mostly A's, a few B's (3 of them), and 2 C's (English I and Orgo I. I retook Orgo I and got an A though).

My overall gpa is 3.76

My bcp is 3.69

If you are worried about one B in a class so far, you are in for a looooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggg undergrad career.
