What happened to LA DOC ????

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I feel like he only checks in every few weeks or so. Definitely not daily.

I died. No actually Ive been slammed at work. I dont even play WOW anymore.

Thanos tried to snap me out, but I beat him, luckily.

Ive got 10 years left folks, TEN. Look at my join date, that was around the start of my career. 10 years from now will be a total 25 years in the profession post training.

1.) I got a crappy junior faculty type job as my first position but negotiated a decent salary
2.) I used this to springboard to a private practice gig
3.) I stayed single for a LONG time, this was by intent
4.) I drove used Hondas literally until the day I paid off all my student debt, which took precisely 3 years. The month after this I bought a Porsche.
5.) I never took a vacation that cost more than 2K.
6.) I never ate out more than once per week unless I was on vacation. I brought home made lunch to work. I drank free coffee.
7.) I lived in a cheap, clean rental until I had 20% down payment. I didnt need 20% down, but I still brought 20% to the table. I chose a 15 year mortgage product as a result.
8.) I bought my first rental property 3 years after buying my personal home. I bought another property every 3 years after that.
9.) I became the head of pathology precisely 28.5 months after finishing training.
10.) I diversified into 2 private business without my path group 24 months after that. At the roughly 8 year mark, I was making 50% of my annual income OUTSIDE my private practice. The rest of my group was totally dependent on the hospital contract to feed their families.
11.) Given I had so much outside income, I was able to negotiate increases in my medical directorship fees every single renegotiation I was in charge. My success built on itself as rapidly as a California wildfire.
12.) I started my career as one of the lowest paid FT medical staff at my hospital, I am now the highest.

take from this what you will.

Cool! Things almost worked out as well for you as they
did for me. I think you would have done better outside of
Cali.
