what happens if you take august mcat, but said otherwise on amcas?

suppose you already submitted app and said you wouldn't take aug mcat. what happens if you do end up taking it?

will schools be notified that when you register for it and put hold on app progress? or will new set of mcat scores unexpectedly show up at schools? or will nothing happen unless you notify schools yourself?
