I heard that if you retake a class med school average the two grades is this true?

It's only true for allopathic medical schools. If you get four hours of F and repeat the class and get an A, you'll essentially have 8 hours of C on the transcript. Osteopathic medical schools replace the poor grade with the most recent retake.
