I got the call from Bea at VCOM around 12:00.

One of my best friends calls me right after and asks (begs) me to wait on the "drop line" (day of the show line when you don't have tickets) for Bruce Springsteen at the Madison Square Garden. I didn't have the heart to say no, hes going through some tough times.

We get online at 2 for an 8:30 show (he goes on at 8:30). We wait on the line until 9:30 ( I am saying the whole time lets get the *&%^ out of here) but he persists that if we get in we will still see an hour of the show.

Guess what....after 7 and a half hours we are the very first people online when they announce there are no more tickets left.

Yea- I thought I would share my med-school acceptance day from hell with everyone.

Still feels good though! Im gonna be a doctor!

Hmm. I was at work, waiting outside of a patient's home for police since he was violent, out of control and all that good stuff. I got the call from NSU and was overjoyed, called my mom, etc. And then I had to go do that call from hell (during which I was kicked in the stomach) so my joy was put on hold for a while. But it was easily still one of the best days of my life. 🙂

I'm at the Science, Industry, and Business Library at 34th and Madison right now, and after plowing my way through people just to get here from the subway, I feel your pain about having to be on these streets for 7 hours.

On a side note, at least you didn't have to study all night for your final the next morning after you found out you were accepted like I did last year. Finding the motivation to turn the pages became extremely difficult after getting that letter, but I still passed. 🙂

Similar, except not NEARLY as exciting! I was at a refresher class all evening, got home, saw the certified mail packet from NSU, opened it...called a few people and then went to bed 'cause I was on an in-between day for work and have been getting my ass kicked recently with BS calls!

Nate.

I was checkin my school email when I saw the email from roger corbman at Touro-NV. I knew I got in because he said if we didnt, we would find out by letter, not email. My mom was in town staying at my apartment. The moment I found out, she was at the grocery store getting stuff to cook dinner, when she came in I said " mom, I did it. " Her, "you did what?" Me " I got into medical school" Her " what! what!, oh my God" --- While shes dropping groceries. Ill never forget that. 😍

Checked my email at about 11 am on a wednesday. Called my dad then my mom. Finished classes for the day (went until 8pm). Went out with g/f and close friends and had a few drinks. Nothin special.

I logged on to my computer, thinking that since it was a week after my interview at WVSOM they might have made a decision really quickly and put it online. To my surprise they did! Told both my parents, then looked at the screen numerous times to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Other than that it was a pretty usual Tuesday. Spread the good news to everyone else throughout the week.

ok this is a good one...

I called KCOM to get an update on my app, and was really really sure I hadn't gotten in because I had been hearing that people who interviewed on the same day as me, (which was also the first day of interviews), had been notified via a phone call the day before. I mean, I was basically calling to confirm that I hadn't been accepted. So I'm sitting in the parking lot of a hair salon, and decide to call. So I called and got transfered to the admissions person I interviewed with...and she told me that I got in!!!!!

I cried, alot, and called my mom and managed to get out "mom, I got in." She was so happy, then I called everybody I could think of.

Afterward, when I was back on campus, I literally walked into my advisor's office, (the door was open), and said "Dr. ___, I got into med school!" and ended up telling him the whole story, then excused myself and ran out of the room when my phone went off, (another family member, word travels fast in my family).

And I spent the rest of the day with a big grin on my face 😀
