So I paid for 9 months for Kaplan and only used 34% of it throughout the school year. I decided to use Uworld during dedicated Step 1 study and just not worry about the wasted money.

But as I'm annotating what I think to be good understanding points and very HY info from world into FA, I realized that the majority of the stuff I've already written stuff down from Kaplan.

I dont know if anyone else thinks about going back to Kaplan, but this has made me think that it's not really that bad. I think the only diff is not the material of the questions but the way it is asked.

the question banks test the same concepts, the reason UW is favored so much is the quality of its explanations and diagrams

I used both, and I actually prefer Kaplan for a couple reasons, but there are things UWorld does better too.

What I like about Kaplan:
-you can now pick "highest yield only"
-there are more categories to create tests like "general principles"
-QTutorials- about 200 2-5 minute videos explaining concepts going with tough questions

UWorld:
-Generally like their explanations a little bit more, nice little summary at the bottom
-When reviewing old test they allow you to see the topic of each question and what broad category it fits into, Kaplan does not do this

I'm using kaplan now after going through UW several times, I have to say there are some good questions and like you said the same concepts are asked but the difference is UW does a better job at integrating everything and giving you the big picture.

The only problem is kaplan is taking me way too long to go through, mainly because those tabs they have for medessentials and references. How did you guys use the bank..is there a faster more efficient way to use it?

dont look at medessentials or references if you got it right man. it just screws with you.

Yeah, if you got it right and didn't mark it (I mark questions that I'm really not sure of the answer to) just read the ReKap and move on. Don't read the long explanation or the MedEssentials page. I don't think I ever looked at any of those videos either (They call them QTorial or something like that...)
