After countless revisions my personal statement looks like its gonna come out to around 4000 characters. While I feel that its a pretty solid PS, I'm definitely worried about it being short.

I suppose I could tack on something extra, but should I?

If you've said what you've wanted to say, then that's all you need.

Just write what you want to write and don't worry about it. Any school that sits there and counts the characters in personal statements sucks anyway.

ADComs will probably appreciate having some essays that didn't max the character limit, but I would still make sure you have added sufficient detail around the experiences/anecdotes most important to your msg before sending it out.

A few anecdotal details I have chosen to leave just so that it might serve as possible interview questions. but all the pertinent info for getting my point across is there.

brevity is the soul of wit right???

Mine's like 4000 right now, too, if it makes you feel any better, and I don't plan on lengthening it. I think it accomplishes what it's supposed to. If that took me less than 5300 characters, so be it.

Adcoms certainly aren't going to hold it against you. I doubt they'll even notice. Mine's still over a page long in Word.

the shorter the better.

I think my PS was like 2500 characters.. I'm in..
