Trying to gauge what IM programs I should look at, based on my stats

Step 1: 260
Step 2: pending
3rd year honors: Internal medicine only
Mostly A's in my classes/clerkships
MD school, not really prestigious
Class rank: 51/120, 2nd quartile

Good volunteering/service experiences
No publications, limited research

The step 1 is amazing.
IM will acknowledge the honors in IM too, despite the non honors in the other ones.
Your only thing holding you back from the gates of the ultra privileged (UCSF/MGH/etc) is the lack of research +/- the AOA. Based on your stats alone and the people who matched at top places last year in IM, I'd believe your list should be places in the top tier and just for fun, also apply to those top dog places. I don't think research will hold you back from most of the upper echelon IM programs given your step 1 and honors.

Off topic, but would you mind sharing your step 1 preparation? And tips for studying for the exam? Excellent score
