I have been coming accross PhD programs that mention a degree in psychology or related field? Can anyone give me some examples of related fields?

Any sort of "counseling" degree that doesn't include counseling psychology. Degrees such as:

counseling studies

mental health counseling

community counseling

Family counseling

There is also social work. I am sure there are more but i can't think of any right now.

Just keep in mind that these are related fields, which means they will have some differences from psychology. If you do get a degree in a related field, i will work but it will probably take a bit longer. Your best bet is always to go the most direct route you can, in the interest of saving time and money but it wouldn't be a disaster to go that way too.

Do you mean "related field" in the sense that PhD programs want you to have a BA in Psychology or a related field?

Yes. I have a BBA in Finance and will have a MA in conflict management/Dispute Resolution. Just wondering how Conflict Management relates.

I am not familiar with that degree. Was it from a business school?

A lot of websites mention this, and I think they are referring to the social sciences in general. A few programs I've seen, it clearly gives examples (sociology, political science, anthropology, etc.). And yes I am aware of the differences between psychology and these disciplines. 😎

I came across a similar issue last year when applying. My bachelor's is in psych, but some programs required a master's in clinical psych or a related field. My M.A. in special ed met the criteria across the board, so I'm sure there are many more. Maybe follow up with the schools directly...

finance might potentially relate to organizational psychology as would conflict management kinda stuff. i would guess different schools would feel differently about what counts as 'related' or not depending on the focus of the program.
