What is biology course exactly indicating?

Hi, I was just wondering what "biology 8 credit hours" exactly is implying? Our school has a trimester system and we do not have a general biology course but choose directly either cell bio course, botany, zoology, anatomy, genetics, etc. Would having any of the three bio courses fulfill the biology requirement?

8 credit hrs in biology is 2 semesters lecture + lab.
