Have some questions for you guys:
1. As a specialist in heme/onc, can you choose to only see hematology patients?
2. Which specialty, heme/onc or endocrinology has the busiest inpatient service?
3. Which specialty has the busiest consult service? Big difference?
4. Is there a lot of call as a heme/onc specialist?
5. Is it much harder to get into fellowship in heme/onc then in endo?
6. Big difference in salary and life style?

In academics, yes. In PP, no.

2. Which specialty, heme/onc or endocrinology has the busiest inpatient service?
I don't think there is such a thing as an inpatient endocrinology service (other than the folks who do radioactive iodine therapy).

3. Which specialty has the busiest consult service? Big difference?
Will depend on setting but more than likely heme/onc.

4. Is there a lot of call as a heme/onc specialist?
Depends on your practice setting. In a large academic group, no. In a small PP group, yes.

5. Is it much harder to get into fellowship in heme/onc then in endo?
Much. You need a pulse to get an Endo fellowship. Most of the time.

6. Big difference in salary and life style?
Yes. Salary upside is much bigger in hem/onc. Endo is massively chill.
