What is HOSA

Health Occupations Students of America. Basically a club for high schoolers/collegiate students interested in any type of healthcare! They have a lot of different competitions that are interesting and you meet a bunch of like minded people! I was a part of the leadership committee at our hs chapter HOSA for 3 years and this year I am just a member! Also went to national twice and went to state competition 3 times! See if your school has a HOSA! Its pretty sick!

HOSA has leadership, too? Do you pick that or competition? OR do you do both?

They had HOSA at my school because of our Center for Health and Wellness program. HOSA was a great program, i just never got involved in it. But our school went to Nationals many times. PHU!

HOSA is a little pre-med gunnerish-kind-of world
👍
It's the equivalent of a pre-medical club in university only that it has good credentials (for high school).

Thanks for the replies. I go to a small private school, so no we don't have HOSA unfortunately. Can you still be involved even though your school doesn't have one? The website was kind of confusing.

Yeah just look up HOSA (State name) or talk to your counselors?

yeah. You'll probably need to get a group of people as a minimum to start the club at your school, as well as finding a way (i know it's possible just don't know how) to register with HOSA so you can go to regional, states, and national competitions.

and YES it can be like that.. I have seen some gunners  but forrealsies. The majority are EXTREMELY cool people who are actually really fun to be around. Just off of my experience of course, but pretty much at least 85% of the people I met through HOSA were pretty awesome.
