The remote medical truck has this truly massive trauma kit from the 70's.. It's huge, and heavy, but full of crap that expired in the 70's. Today, we removed some of this stuff. This is our "Ditch Doctor" kit, it has a variety of things you wouldn't normally find on an ambulance. Anything from toothache care, to medicated hemorrhoid pads.

There are a few things that we couldn't identify, this is one of them...

Small metal box, four holes, label is Omnimed of Maple Shade, NJ.. Says "Bend to break".

I'd guess it's for smelling salts, given the holes to let the fumes out and that I can't think of much else that you would intentionally break from that time period. Or amyl nitrates for chest pain. But that's just a guess.

"Bend to break" and see what happens.

Nah, I second that they're probably some sort of inhalable - and dude, you're in Eagle, AK? - Post a photo to show us how gorgeous it is? Please?

Son of a ....... If I knew it was expensive, I'd not have bent it, broke it open, and threw it away. I'd have sold it on eBay.

I would trade a digital camera, with five hundred local pics, for a case of something uber great for mosquito bites. Holy hell. It's terrible. I should have stayed in Montana. These are no ordinary bites, people, and myself.. get like three or four inch in diameter white-welts from single bites. Imagine having twenty of those. Best to visit Alaska in August, that way you're sure to get Summer. Of course, it should be mentioned, I never saw the Eagle of the last century. It was all but destroyed last year during an ice jam. It looks like a outpost camp now.
