So I think I have an unique situation in my hands. I haven't turned my ERAS application for Internal Medicine residency due to the following situations:

-Still missing the most important letter of recommendation, it will be uploaded next week.

-My STEP 1 score is not that good, so I am hoping my STEP 2 CK score to see if it helps but I'm in the group that took it on august so I'm waiting for the score on SEP 25.

- Although I think my application has no red flags, it is not so great either (no research experience in medschool, no 3.50+ GPA, not the best school)

I don't know what to do, I'm afraid if I turn in my application right now, it wont do a good first impression and be discarded, versus waiting until SEP 25 (by that date I will have my last recommendation letter) for my STEP 2 CK score and summit the complete application.
So in my case, what is more convenient?? Submitting the ERAS application the earliest possible or wait 10 more days and have a more complete application??

Thanks in advance

I have heard some IM programs will hold it against you if you don't turn in your app right away, and you can apply to programs without assigning letters. The Step 2 score can also be updated on Sept 25, assuming you like it and it's good enough. Just turn it in.

Hi Everyone. This is my situation:
IMG.
USMLE-Scores(All passed in first attempts):
step 1: 245
step 2: 252
CS: Pass
IM residency completed in my home country in 2012.
Currently doing research at a top university.
Publications: 1 submitted in a pretty good magazine (IF: 18).
No visa requirements
Here´s my question: I´m applying to internal medicine for the ERAS 2014 match. However, I have not submitted my application to programs yet, since my LOR have not been uploaded. Should I still apply to programs, even though my application is not complete? What do you guys think?
Thank you and best of luck to all!

If your step 1 is avg, I would turn in the app.

I would prob turn it in anyway, but definitely if your step 1 is at least average.

The chances of programs looking at your app now and COMPLETELY REJECTING YOU are low. I'm a fellow student, not a PD, so take my opinion for what it's worth, but it seems more likely they'd just neglect to offer you an interview until they sift through more files. Ya know, like they prob want to see a bigger picture of what they have to work with before throwing out apps simply because they aren't particularly outstanding. In the meantime, you will get your step 2.
