i am going to make it short,

GPA 3.2 Bioengineer and neuroscience major
MCAT 36- 11v 13 12
Science GPA 3.3
Volunteer experience
research experience
clinical experience
independent study in Darfur about public Health, going back this summer again
President of Student of Public Health Education
Intramural soccer
Treasurer of Breakdance club
involved with Bioengineering Student Association

Grammar mistake at the topic title, don't go crazy on it lol 😉

Your gpa is going to hold you back. However your mcat is top notch.. I think you'll get in somewhere if you apply broadly.

3.2 x 36 is incongruous. How schools look at this varies wildly.

but how do they look at the difficulty of the major,
for example for neuroscience core courses i have a GPA of 3.9
but because of Bioengineer, the GPA went down.

Your MCAT score is high enough to compensate for the low GPA at some less-selective schools. Unfortunately, that doesn't redeem the low BCPM GPA, unless you have a recent upward trend in upper-level Bio courses. Perhaps you could detail your year-by-year BCPM GPA for us.

We can't judge your ECs at all from your list. it would help to see details of # hours and years of involvement. What was the nonmedical volunteering. What about leadership (what did you accomplish as president-did you just lead meetings or did you carry through some new initiative?) and teaching? How many doctors did you shadow and hours for each? Any publications? What is your overseas research intended to accomplish?

Unfortunately your difficult major wins you few points, and only at a few med schools.

MCAT good, GPA low. Is there an upward trend - and can the low grades be explained by circumstances in your life. If so, be prepared to address in your personal statement.

What everyone said is correct, but they also look at what grades you got in your science courses... Mostly A's and some B's in the other stuff or B's in your pre med courses? Your MCAT is great.

I guess a good evaluation of your chances would depend on the type of programs you are applying to. Are you applying to Johns Hopkins or Eastern Tennessee? That will significantly affect your chances.

Treasurer of the Breakdance Club.....

hahaha, it might sounds funny, but the amount of money we have to spend in competitions is insane, and on top of that the amount of money we win we usually tend to spend it on gears. so basically i am the guy that makes everything possible for the club to be able to compete. cause university showing lack of support toward us, even though we are recognized nationally.
