So i have been complete at all my schools for around a month (22 schools between September 14th to October 4th) and I literally haven't heard a thing (except for a BU rejection like 10 days after i was complete). What is going on? are they not up to my date yet? Is the lack of response like a hold? Whats the deal? does anyone have any insight about this?

you applied late after schools have already received a ton of apps. it takes time to sort through them. i wouldn't worry yet.

even as early as i applied, it took some schools over a month to offer me an interview.

i say call back for a status check in a few weeks just to see if they're still reviewing you.

The wait is truly the worst part of this process, even more so than rejection because at least you have an answer. There are a couple of reasons that this could happen:

1) the school is overloaded with apps and moving slow with the process

2) your app may not be "jumping out" at the adcomm when they review it, which is delaying your interview offer (might be able to fix this with a letter of intent)

3) you may not be officially complete at the school because you are missing one thing that you thought had been sent in (like an LOR that a teacher forgot to send)

My wife and I waited the longest for the school we are at now, so sometimes there is happiness at the end of the wait 🙂.

At my school, each application gets about 30-45 minutes of "faculty eyeball time" before the interview offer is made. These are volunteer eyeballs and most can devote about an hour per day to the review of applications. So, even with several dozen pairs of eyeballs, it takes time to slog through hundreds (thousands) of applications. Once applications stop arriving it takes us 6 -8 weeks to settle the backlog and another 8 weeks to finish the interview season.

Applicants with August MCATs shouldn't plan on hearing anything until Dec 1 and also figure on not interviewing until January. If it happens sooner you'll be elated but I think that this time table is reasonable.

what about us reapplicants that were complete at the august/september mark? when is it our (my) time to shine?

Wow, so if we were complete early-mid september, a reasonable timeline to expect is not to be interviewing at many schools until January? Yikes! I have a few interviews already, but that would explain the silence from the other 13 schools, lol.

My situation as well. I have two interviews, two rejections, and the other 17 been completely silent. Even my own state schools which recieve only a fraction of the applications that the other schools I have applied to recieve, have been very quiet and say the generic line, "Under Review" if you email or call them.

Anyways, I am hoping the best for some news coming up Friday. 🙂

** I forgot to mention that I just became complete at FSU yesterday. I thought I was complete there since September. I called them for a status check yesterday, and apparently, my letters and application weren't officially loaded or "put together" for the committee review. After a few minutes answering questions on the phone and a very pleasant conversation, I became officially complete. **

I have been complete everywhere since mid August and still nothing.
