Is it totally late for 05? Does anyone know if you can apply by mid December and still get accepted? Any school that is not late yet?

It's not the way most people would recommend, but don't let anyone tell you it's impossible.

Oh, absolutely not. Don't do it the way I did if you can help it. I'm just trying to counterbalance all the ignorant (however well-meaning) zealots here who tramp around saying you're doomed if you don't have your AADSAS submitted within five minutes of midnight on July 1.Darksunshine said:Congradulations Aphistis! But would you say that you are the "norm" of most applicants?![]()

My mistake, sorry. 😉edkNARF said:Hey aphistis, its time for some inconsequential hair-splitting! I believe you mean "five minutes of midnight on June 1st" not July 1st. June 1st is usually the first date AADSAS will accept applications, though we could submit as early as mid-may this cycle.
Darksunshine said:You are asking an almost impossible to answer question. Unless your stats are pretty spectacular at this point, probably your chances are very, very slim. I am not trying to hurt your feelings, but this is true. Many schools have deadlines that end this month, where they need the AADSAS application in their hot little hands, not to mention your DAT. This is probably one of the most competative cycles yet just by looking at the size of the numbers the AADSAS is slapping on applications.
Also, the are fewer and fewer interviews to be fought over as the months roll by. I wouldn't bet on getting in this year if I were you, and if you choose to spend the money to apply, which is by all means your choice, you should plan on re-applying next year as well. If you feel that somehow you might have an "edge" or excellent stats that may make you shine like a diamond on a pitch black night, GO FOR IT! But don't place your heart on your sleeve as it is much too late in this cycle to be "starting" your application. You should be waiting for interviews about now or even better, gone to a few of them.
All of this of course is just my opinion, which it appears you are looking for with your initial thread. Take it from me, a person in their second application cycle, that applying early is of a major benefit. If you are indeed serious look up the schools that you would be applying and see what their deadlines are. Also, call and ask them how would they handle an application arriving to them in the next 3-4 weeks (AADSAS turn around time) and would it have a shot. That might help you better than "our" opinion here at SDN.

On a side note, if I apply for this cycle and dont get accepted, would it have impact in my chances for getting accepted for the next cycle? In other words is that considered a negative point?
