What is the average % of kids you see in your class that will drop out of pre-med?

If you imagine that a large science university has about 800-1000 pre-meds every year, by the end of that the number likely will halve. So assuming 400-500 actually take the MCAT, about 20% will not perform well enough to apply and will delay over to a different semester. Then you consider the ones who don't actually ever recuperate and then change majors to another health profession. Then from there the ones that had made it through every obstacle and red tape will apply. This further culls the pack to an astounding number! The battle of the brawn, survival of the fittest, the final countdown or whatever phrase you have that will describe the sheer competitiveness of going to medical school! Good luck 🙂
