I've been told that Allergy and Immunology is the like the Derm of IM, is this statement correct. In your opinions what is the Derm of IM specialties.

Except you don't get paid like derm. The only guys making derm kind of money are working for EVERY single thin dime.

Rheum does allright. Lots of in the clinic procedures. Just not derm good.

Those family medicine guys who only do derm do pretty well. 200-250ish. The one I worked with was shady

Fibro patients are like $-50k though.

Fibro patients aren't that bad. You simply tell them that the only things proven to improve their fibro symptoms is exercise and sleep, and you will give them a sleep aid, but nothing else. You simply put the responsibility ball back in their court. Recommend exercise and tell them you'll see them again in 4 months. MOST don't come back - find another doc, maybe a sucker FP who'll give them narc's - those that do are the kind you want to have in clinic. You'll obviously bill their insurer for the initial consult.

The patients you really want are the osteoarthritis patients - they get injections all over the place.

Allergy, Sleep, Rheum?, GI and Pain are Derm of IM (Better quality of life, reasonable money)

Pain? The only routes to an accredited pain fellowship is through psych, neuro, pm&r, and anesthesia.
