What is the First step when applying for medical school?

I am about 1 year away from finishing my BS, I have only been in the Sates for a few years so I’m not sure how everything works here. I would like to start the application process before I graduate, that way I can go straight into Med school, but I don’t even know where to start.
I have 3.8 GPA lots of extracurricular activities and volunteering
Any advice is welcomed.

I'm not an expert, but you can start with shadowing some doctors in specialties that you're interested in.
