Just wonder what it is like to be hired as an intern at Walgreens....I heard people say you first have to fill an online application, then have 1 interview with district office, and wait for at least 1 week for 1 more interview with the specific store manager...???Anyone here working at Walgreens and know about this?

These are usual routes I observed from my classmates:

1) They were already working with Walgreens before they got accepted; then they transferred to the pharmacy section.

2) They met Walgreens rep at the Career Fair my college holds twice a year, and they hired them as interns.

3) They went to individual stores and asked if they needed help.

4) Participate as a summer intern and they ask if you'd like to work during school

I DO NOT recommend online application. Better to go in person and ask (though it could be a little disappointing if they say no).

I have an interview with Walgreen's tomorrow afternoon, I called the district manager (a pharmacy gave me the number) and she told me to fill out an application on-line. She then called me back and scheduled an interview 3 weeks ago.

I will have to tell you how it goes after that, but so far it is kind of a run-a-round.

With walgreens, the first step is to fill out the online application. Then, you should try to talk with someone in person. But if you talk to a pharmacy manager, the first thing they will ask is if you have filled out the online application

Well I went to my interview today and it went good, however.... at the end she said since you are a pre-pharmacy student your application gets put to the top of the pile, ALTHOUGH we don't have any opening's right now.

The whole thing lasted about an hour with a test (which caught me off guard).. it was ok, but I wish they would have told me at the start they were not looking to hire right away...

I find it hard to believe that in a WHOLE state there is not one open slot to fill.... maybe it didn't go as good as I thought.

o'well.

At my interview they took me into the liquer store on the property and MADE me drink 3 big bottles of grey goose vodka! 😱
