I got that too and then I got the secondary about a week later.

they are just saying that they have recieved your premliminary application. Now they are going to see if you are qualified for a secondary application. So if you have avergae stats then you should recieve it within the next week or so.

I'm just playing - They are just verifying to you that they have recieved your primary app. Many pre-meds worry if all their schools have recieved their apps, and Wake is pre-empting the thousands of calls they are sure to get about recieved applications.

You get the same crap from VCU and the UC schools.

In case of the application is interesting but doesn't really turn anyone on, an applicant may be given another chance to write a "do or die" essay. Wake F is the only legit screening school that I know of. The school doesn't just look forward to a check in the secondary application.

what a stupid post, and what an annoying attitude. i can't imagine a more self explanatory message than the one you got.

It did happen. A guy was rejected after Wake F asked him to write an extra essay. So he didn't have to pay the secondary fee. How often does that happen?

The guy was aware that he was mediocre. But that didn't prevent him from receiving secondary application from every (out of state) screening school that he applied to. That included two schools in the top 15. It didn't surprise him much when almost all of these schools didn't bother to contact him again after the secondary application. He was just lucky enough to be successful in the only interview that he got. Since that school was probably the only one that ask for a hand written essay, the guy probably had something that they were looking for.

BTW, the only other out of state school that rejected him pre-secondary was U of Kansas. Things didn't add up too well.

I got that email too. And then I received another email 10 minutes later telling me that they are holding my application until my August MCAT scores are received.
