What is up with Radiology this year

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Collapsing RVU.

I doubt student know that yet, all the salary reports still show rads pulling a lot. Plus good hours, maybe? But you are right, the RVU for imaging is and will continue to face an assualt from policy makers.

Maybe less interest in rads this year?

The last two years were the most competitive for radiology in a while. In the 2008 match, there were about the same number of unfilled positions as this year. Looks like interest may have peaked, or PDs underestimated their interview pools after last year's crowds.

Some of them will be the very unloved direct IR programs, and I'd be highly surprised if any of them were located in major cities. Remember last year's three unmatched advanced positions were in Kentucky.

Edited to add: also wondering if people stayed away from a couple of NE programs that were rumored to be in danger of closing.
