Classic bandana. Red. White. and Blue. Only 87 cents a pop at the local walmart or target. The disposable blue surgical caps are too boring for me. No pun intended aredoubleyou.

I've seen some of the female residents with special caps that have a built in pony tail holder. I can't remember the company that makes them though... One of them was telling me that the caps made it on to "Grey's Anatomy."

Scrub hats (scrub caps) have graduated from being functional to being a personalizable accessory both in the OR and outside. Before the antiseptic focus of the 40's, hats were not considered essential to surgery. In the forties and fifties, as a hygienic focus swept the industry, hats became standard wear to help protect patients from contaminants in hair. Full-face hats were even designed for men with beards. These hats have been, and continue to be distributed by GPOs (Group Purchasing Organizations) who supply hospitals with most equipment. I go for the bouffant, it keeps my coif from getting hathead. Bonus points if I can find the floral pattern- I can't see it but it seems to piss everyone else off.

With the variety of custom hats, though, they might as well allow any hat that covers your head. I'd sport a Kangol backwards.
