What is your single Top Choice (but Realistic) School

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Duke is top choice, but Im not overly optimistic (3.87 overall, 3.78 science... 36 mcat). Top choice of school Im pretty hopeful for is university of Florida. Im a florida resident so I have that going for me. But hell, at this point my top school is wherever Im accepted.

Top Realistic Choice: Right now at this moment probably UAB. It is cheap, well respected, close to home and a place I am familiar with. I'll probably apply to other schools that may more appropriately be called "reaches" but I am not sure if I would go to them at much greater expense over UAB if accepted to both.

Pretty much anywhere in Florida Osteopathic or Allopathic....FSU I am close to my parents for free food and go out fishing on our boat...UM or Nova I am close to my brother where I get a house rented to me cheap, sailing (when I have time). UF or USF because they are reasonably priced strong schools...then the host of others that will spring up when I'm applying because new schools might lower their standards for my level.

1. University of Washington (I love Seattle life and this is my undergrad)
2. University of British Columbia (My family is here)
3. Columbia University (My sister lives in this area and Columbia is just cool).

the only school i've visited was loyola, and i really liked it. I think it's realistic with my numbers

Weill Cornell / Mt. Sinai

Hmmm.... I'm not sure what's considered realistic. I guess NYMC is pretty realistic. It's a great idea, 2 years I could get away from the city, but then come back for the final 2 years. Sometimes you just want a short break from city life, but I like being able to come back because I know i would miss it.

I would also love to go to The George Washington University. I love how technoligical they are. Course, both schools happen to cost a ton of money, but lets pretend I'm really wealthy for this game. Otherwise, it looks like I would go to a state school if I got in (I <3 ya Downstate!)

UMASS! It's less than 5 miles from home so free food and laundry!

But since that will probably most definately not happen.... Albany Med is probably my next choice since I've made a place for myself in the surrounding area over the past 3 years. Or Jefferson or GW.

*prays for interviews* :scared:

Try Hot Pockets. Ramen's sodium content is dreadfully unhealthy.

I've been a Lean Pockets guy this summer. It's a huge improvement from my previous summers spent feasting on Totino's Party Pizzas daily.

EDIT: Oh, and probably the University of Pittsburgh, but we shall see.

UMass, or Penn State.
Tufts would be great, too!
I only need one, though - I'm not greedy 😉

at this point, I don't know what realistic is, but it's a 3-way tie:

Vanderbilt, Emory, & PENN

Dream: Loyola or Pritzker
Realistic: Rosalind Franklin? please? :scared:

chicago. hhahaha so much love for vandy on this thread. i go there for undergrad and love it. i must warn you tho, once you go vandy you'll never go back ie it's a bubble.

Would anyone turn down a home-town acceptance to go out of state? I'm torn over what I would do (love where I live)

Ok, I'll add some that haven't been said yet:

Most realistic: The University of Oklahoma (in-state, $$, family nearby)

Slightly less realistic but good: Tufts, BU (family in Boston)

Reach: Cornell

AECOM for me, which is near downtown manhattan
or wakeforest, which is near NC!

Being as I don't live near home now, have no desire to return back home (don't like the area and have family problems), it was so far down my list I didn't even apply. If I had, it would have been my last choice, regardless of cost.
