What journals do you publish in?

Hi all,

Curious to know what journals you all write for, and submit to. As a fellow, there’s limited funding available to pay these crazy publication, or “open access” fees that journals are charging. Curious about Pain, Pain Medicine, Neuromodulation...other options?

It is my opinion that the "open access" high fee journals are there to make money and not to promote science. I can't think of any off the top of my head that are well-regarded. Other pain journals I'd consider are Pain Physician, Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. Anesthesiology and A&A are anesthesia-based ones obviously but have pain sections.

The advice I give folks is to look at their manuscript's reference list. That generally narrows down the lists of journals to focus on.

I would avoid the predatory open access journals (Predatory open-access publishing - Wikipedia), but there are some high quality journals that do have open access options and others that only do open access.
