What Kind of Music do you listen to?

I listen to almost everything, but my main focus is k-pop 😍

Same here. I don't really like country that much either, but anything else is fine with me

Whaa.... why is everyone hating on country music lol. I'm not a fanatic, but some country artists are really good.
 
Older Rap/hip hop some new, Tolbert knows whats up
 
Classical, traditional instrumental Chinese music (No Chinese Opera lest my ears bleed), traditional Japanese music, certain forms of Chinese or Japanese pop (Nothing loud. I like soft and relaxing stuff), and occasionally a song from genres I don't normally listen to.

I feel almost determined to learn the first song that I posted. I'm not at that level of playing. It sounds pretty easy but it's very complex and intricate. I play the Tenor Sax and the Piano, and I think that classical music and piano music are timeless and I wish more people could honestly appreciate this type of music more. Not many people can truly "love" this type of music. I believe one needs to have a trained ear to fully appreciate it.

I am also an avid Classical music lover; I play the violin.

I play the Viola 🙂
And the piano, bass clarinet, and harmonica. Played the trumpet for awhile in band but ultimately quit. My cousin plays all 5 though, and he's much more talented than me. ><
 
Understanding of classical concepts reinforces understanding of modern music.
 
I like pop, alternative, and indie rock... lately I like trance or dance (not dubstep) music like Desire. A lot of J-pop and K-pop is cute, but I don't seek it out. I do like a few Girls Generation songs and I just heard Sorry by Kaela Kimura which is an adorable song.

I hate giving music genres because a lot of stuff doesn't really fit into a group.

Although, I have found a interest in Jazz of late but I wouldn't say I listen to it nearly as much as the others.

Rap - I hate. But Hip-Hop and R&B are okay.
Techno - Decent.
Classic - Great
Dubstep - Surprisingly I actually like some of it.
Jazz - Heck Yes!

Tbh, I really don't get the difference between rap and hip hop. I mean, what is it.. like is rap supposed to be more "gangsta" lol. Maybe it's just me? 😕

IMO, There almost the same thing. Hip Hop probably focuses more on the beats, While Rap focuses more on the lyrics. That's how I see it.

Yup so Hip-Hop would be artists like Drake, lil wayne or Mac Miller where as rap would be artist like Lupe Fiasco, Honors English or Immortal Technique.
 
Likes hip hop but hates rap. Lolwut. I'll stick to ***** money weed lyrics opposed to "rebellious, thug" music? Lmao. Tolbert you pretty much have it, rap= hip hop, theres only differences between rappers and emcees(from what I saw in "the art of rap"
 
Okay, I see what you guys mean. I guess I'm a hip hop fan, but like pthopes, i still think rap should = hip hop 😛

Well it's complicated I guess. I actually really like Lupe Fiasco. Rap is more hardcore lyrics whereas Hip Hop is sort of more instrument oriented.

Agreed. Some of the older rappers were actually bearable. Newer ones like "Lil Wayne" don't know how to say anything other than swear words, the n word, and various female body parts.
 
Lol, I don't listen to a lot of them, but I think it's a matter of personal preference. I'm more mad at the fact that radios are actually playing them instead of the lyricists than anything else.. I mean if Chief Keef wants to drink and Trinidad James wants a molly, WOO

Just don't play on my station.
or at least wait until I'm awake and hyped up 😛

I actually didn't notice she was following me, one of my friends was the one that pointed it out and I was freaking out. I wasn't even following her when she started following me, which made it really creepy, like how did Lady Gaga find me? 😕 lol
