I need to buy dress shoes since my old ones are getting pretty bad. I'm lookin at one right now that is pretty shiny, black, and has a squared-off toe. I've heard that the squared-off toe is more trendy these days but I read around online that the curved toe is the more traditional look that one should go for.

Also is shiny appropriate since I'll be wearing a suit or is it distracting?

square vs. pointy toe is a non-issue...wear whichever is more comfortable

shiny shoes will make you look ridiculous, unless you're wearing a tux (which i hope you won't be)

Square toed shoes are an abomination. Consider chiseled toe shoes if you are really into that squared look.

Best shoes for interviewing though are AE Park Avenues or something similar.

Unless it's velvet, in which case he should definitely wear it.

wear what is comfortable, and wear it with confidence. the last thing the interviewer cares about is whether u are wearing oxfords or loafers.

i wore loafers (because they match my personality)

So...you're a loafer? (whatever that means)

like...my..loafers, former gophers.
It was that or skin my chauffeurs,
But a greyhound fur tuxedo
Would be best

Kill two for matching clogs?

My question to OP: How do you write something like that and expect to get a serious answer?

I'd wear some fluorescent pink chucks.

chuck taylors (dirty and faded)
