What kinds of magical students get into UCSF?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
In state applicants with around a 3.8 and a 35O on the mcat.

The two non-trads I know that got in:

-One was a career changer (art history degree + work --> post-bacc). Did cool research with lasers.

-The other took the minimal prereqs and worked as a pilot iirc.

Both were CA residents and had a high GPA + MCAT. YMMV.

What special things do premeds do that grant them entrance into UCSF?
(let's be sort of serious).
I'll let you know how the obsessive stalking tactic works out. 🙄

They have real life magic powers.

I know one UCSF graduate... he also has a law degree from Stanford.

I wish I were kidding.

I heard a rumor that there's an Olympic medalist there now... I REALLY hope that's not true though. Too intimidating.

magical students generally take all their pre-req's at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry or Durmstrang's academy. From then their OWLS and their MCAT scores are factored in by :

((MCAT/OWL)*4)/Wand Length.

It's not a rumor: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/18/sports/olympics/18seconds.html?_r=2&scp=1&sq=pool%20dead%20sea&st=cse

Actually, you don't even apply to UCSF. If you're accepted, you get a letter delivered by owls on your eleventh birthday. Why do you think it's so tough to get a secondary from them?

UCSF is kind of like that professor in Harry Potter who "collects" famous students.

Seriously.

It is kind of crazy here.

It's not all numbers and nontrad and residency. I'm speaking bitterly from my IS/3.83 gpas/36R/3 years real life work which earned me a preinterview rejection PDF. Not even an interview? Oh c'mon!!!

Yes, there's got to be something more they're after. I think it has to do with the sheer volume of great applicants in CA, and ucsf hand-picks particular types of or certain qualitites in people. And that's not to say there's nothing desirable or unique about me or anyone else that doesn't get in there, it's just that ucsf wanted someone else instead.

I know that doesn't help anyone at all, but that's all I can say.

The guy from "The Bachelor: An Officer and a Gentleman" went there.

Jesus would make it.

Depending on where he lived, GPA and MCAT ... anything less than IS, 3.7 and 33 might get him a pre-interview rejection...sacrificing himself for all of humanity's sin as an EC can only get him so far

The most frequently represented undergrad at UCSF is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. That answer your question?😛

Be a pretty good-instate student?

ehh i dont even know. i have 3.93 at a UC school with 36S (and 3years research, 2 years clinical) and i got rejected pre-interviewed yet ive been interviewed at other top 20 schools and have 2 acceptances. this process is really a crapshoot.
