What math courses should I take and when should I take them in my undergrad biology degree?

Calc I + Calc II/Statistics. Take them during your first two semesters.

Should I not wait and use my gen ed credits my senior senior for Cal 1?

I don't really know what you mean by this.

As a bio major, I'm guessing your school requires you to take Calc 1/Calc 2 OR Calc 1/Statistics. Unless you want to apply to Harvard or like math, I'd suggest taking Stats because it'll be easier. If you have AP/IB credit for these classes, you can use it... but make sure you aren't applying to a school that doesn't accept AP credit for math courses (luckily, there are very few schools that do this). I took AP Calc and AP Stats in high school and didn't have to take them in college. 🙂

Would it matter if I took cal 1 my freshman or senior year?

Well, no, probably not. The only area where you could have a problem is if you took calc-based physics (which obviously has calc 1 as a prereq).

However, I'd go ahead and get calc over with while pre-calc is at least somewhat fresh in your mind.

Should I take pre cal in high school? Or just Do pre cal freshman year of college, then Cal 1 next semester?

Does your school have AP courses? I didn't realize you hadn't graduated already. Take as many math courses as possible... the same with english, science, etc. Don't take those lame "filler" classes.

Specifically, take as many AP/IB courses as you can. It will set you up well for college, and having a lot of gen eds out of the way really helps. Plus, taking a really heavy course load and doing well potentially opens up scholarship opportunities to you.

I took 10 AP classes in high school and came in to college with enough hours to be a sophomore. I'm graduating a semester early. It's nice!
