9's across the board or better. Try to aim for a balanced score.

Best possible.... 45T.

I think you mean worst possible. I have heard of people being accepted with 24's, but I would not count on that. The best thing to do is aim for a score that will get you into either a DO school or an MD school, then choose the one that you like with the best financial aid package.

I think most schools average 27-28 for their acceptances.

I'd say anything above a 27 for safety (at least a 9 in each section). You can get in with a score lower than that, it's just going to be harder.

The higher the score the better your chances.

Aim for as high as you can go... Don't set a target and shoot for it... just cram as much into your mind as possible and go from there.

While individuals have gotten in with 23s & 24s, I wouldn't bank on an acceptance with that score to the most competitive DO schools.

I know of someone who got into PCOM this app cycle with a 23 MCAT but the individual had an outstanding GPA (3.7+), went to an undergrad college with an affiliation to PCOM, and was a PA resident from the Philadelphia area... the individual also had many, many EC's both clinical and social...

Bottom line, something has to make your application stand out. It might as well be the MCAT seeing as it is a standardized test. If you score well on the MCAT (28-30+) no one is going to explain it away easily.

Best of luck... and change your point of view. Don't shoot for the least possible score for acceptance. Instead, do your best and keep as many options available to yourself as possible. :luck:

i know more than one person who got in with a 22...you better have a killer set of extracurriculars and a sparkling personality to back that up though. Your GPA is fine, just aim for a 27 or above and you'll be golden.

I am no expert, but GPA 3.5 with MCAT 26 will get the job done in general.
To be safe, MCAT of 27+ will get you in (usually).

If either is lower than that, the other has to be higher. For example, 25 MCAT with 3.8 GPA.

Ok, first off a 3.52 is not "very low". I think you know that and you're just looking for someone to tell you otherwise in order to make you feel better about yourself. Secondly, you failed to mention your science GPA. Lastly, what does it matter what you need to make? Just because someone tells you that you need to make a 27 doesn't mean that you will make a 27. It also doesn't mean that you will not. In the end, you're going to take the MCAT and do you're best and the end result will have nothing to do with anything that that anybody posted on this thread. You're question should not be "what kind of score do I need?" It should be "what is the best way to study for the MCAT so that I can do my best?" I'd recommend that you visit the MCAT forum.

Isn't PCOM's average MCAT for this year's class under 24? I thought I remember that from the open house.

I agree with this statement 100%. Many people bank on the idea of just getting a 30 but not many actually achieve it.

Yea I remember that too. And I think there GPA was around 3.3 or so.

this joker is clearly a troll.
people, don't encourage the troll by responding.

I am not here to show myself. First of all, my GPA is "too low" because of the circumstances i got my undergraduate degree. I had a full time job during all those four years of my undergraduate degree paying my tuition and helping my family. I am currently in Graduate School, so i only made this thread to benefit from smart and courageous people in this site. I am not here to solicit for help but to have constructive and objective advice and opions from respectable people of this site. And i dearly admired and appreciate the unconditional feeback from energetic people in this site in regards to my thread.
Fellows, including Mr. Critic, i respectfully respect your suggestions and opinions and i will use these elements to ensure that my dream of attending DO college is righltly achieve. Again i appreaciate everybody's inputs towards this thread.

The reason people are "mad" or say "troll" is because you joined recently, have few posts, made a very brief post, and if people searched your posts, they would see you have posted in the Pharmacy section. As a result, people will conclude you didnt get into Pharm schools, and have now decided to make this thread. But good luck on pursuing your dream, whatever it may be, DO, Pharmacy, etc.

For all due respect i have never apply to Oharmacy school before, I was there to get a better test of diverse fields including DO and MD. I am currently a Graduate Student, not an undergraduate trying to kill two birds of the same stone. But again i think we have to be well smart enough to welcome members quest for advice rather than castigating them. Secondly, i think it is emphatically wrong for one to accused a fellow member of showing up with any credible and constructive evidence. But to conclude, i have a great respect for all the distinguish members of this honorable site. I close my Chapter.

you have to understand that we have troll here opening threads like this every other week.
If you would spend at least 15 minutes on researching this forum and reading FAQ you would know that 3.52/3.62 GPA and the fact that you are in grad school are one foot in the door.
So that is why ppl jumped on you saying you are a troll.
3.52 GPA is high, even for MD schools(unless you aim for top tier) especially if you pull of a nice MCAT score and get your Master's or Ph.D or whatever you work on.
Just have some logic ....since you are a grad student you should be familiar with researching for sources and should be a little bit more self sufficient.
If you are not a troll and please do a search and read some thereds on here and then come back with additional questions.

Mid 20's should be fine for a DO school. But, DO schools put a lot of weight on your ECs as well. They really do look at the whole application. So, make sure the rest of your application is strong.:luck:
